The White Sox appear inclined to get all of their Christmas shopping done early, as they have reportedly agreed to bring back catcher A.J. Pierzynski. The two-year deal, expected to be worth $8 million, was first reported by FOXSports.com. Earlier Thursday, the White Sox reached agreement on a four-year deal with free agent Adam Dunn that will become official after he takes a physical Friday.
But Kenny Williams saved some money for a guy who has been entrenched at U.S. Cellular Field since 2005. The starting catcher for the White Sox since then, Pierzynski is a guy other teams love to hate for his particular brand of gamesmanship, but they obviously like having him around on the South Side.
