Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Angels are seen as a front-runner for the veteran outfielder who finished last season across town as a member of the Dodgers. He's not in Crawford's class, obviously, but Podsednik would seem to be a good fit for what the Angels like to do and for what they need in their lineup.
In 2010, Angels leadoff men finished eighth in the American League with a .325 on-base percentage. Chone Figgins' departure explains that middling figure and, along with the losses of Vladimir Guerrero and Kendry Morales, gets to the heart of the reason why the Angels finished 13th in the AL in overall on-base percentage last year. It also helps explain why the Angels scored 202 fewer runs than they did in 2009 and why Podsednik interests them.
