LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The
Los Angeles Dodgers have a full starting rotation after signing right-hander
Jon Garland away from the
Padres and retaining both
Ted Lilly and
Hiroki Kuroda this winter, but that isn't stopping them from trying to keep
Vicente Padilla around as well.
The
Dodgers are trying to bring back Padilla in 2011 as a swing-man reliever or perhaps even a closer, a source told FanHouse.
Padilla, 33, has spent the vast majority of his career in the rotation and made 16 appearances -- all starts -- for Los Angeles last season.
