Designated for assignment by the Pirates last week, Zach Duke has already found a new home. Pittsburgh traded the left-hander to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday for a player to be named.Duke went 8-15 with a 5.82 ERA for the Pirates in 2010. He is 45-70 over parts of six major league seasons, all for Pittsburgh, with a 4.54 ERA, which works out to a below-average mark when adjusted for league and ballpark.
He's averaged 161 innings a season in the big leagues -- a total that has been suppressed by poor performance, not injuries -- so he can give the D'backs plenty of innings at the back of their rotation.
