ATLANTA -- Cody Ross hit a game-tying homer in the sixth and a go-ahead single in the seventh to lift the Giants to a 3-2 victory over the Braves in Game 4 of the NLDS, winning the series and ending the career of Braves manager Bobby Cox.

The Giants advance to play the Phillies in the best-of-seven NLCS, starting on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. It is the Giants' first trip to the NLCS since 2002, when they won the pennant.

The Braves led 1-0 and 2-1, but the Giants came back with three runs in the sixth and seventh. In the sixth, Ross hit a solo homer, the first hit of the night against Braves starter Derek Lowe. In the seventh, after Brian McCann's homer restored the lead, the Giants took advantage of two walks by Lowe and an error by shortstop Alex Gonzalez to plate two runs.

Ross' two-out bases-loaded single against Jonny Venters pushed home the go-ahead run.
