When Dan Uggla turned down a contract extension offered by the Marlins, we were left to speculate if it was the number of years, the amount of money or just some issue with the team that made him wary of committing for the long term. We're still not sure, but it's looking like the team might have had something to do with it. Uggla hasn't been a Brave long enough to know the way to the stadium, but that isn't stopping him from making it known that he'd like to remain with the team for the long haul.
"It's something we have to sit down and talk about and discuss," Uggla said Friday. "Whatever the number of years or amount of money, that's kind of up to us to come to an agreement on, given that opportunity. But with that said, I'm very interested in staying here for longer than just a year."
