On Tuesday, Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik threw water on the notion that the team would try to get out from under Milton Bradley's contract after his arrest on charges of threatening a woman last week.Zduriencik told Larry Stone of the Seattle Times that he has spoken to Bradley since the arrest and that Bradley is working hard to be ready for spring training. The Mariners are operating under the assumption that he'll be there when the team gets to Arizona, although a Feb. 8 court date could call his availability into question.
"Obviously, there's a legal process that Milton has to go through," Zduriencik said. "As of right now, he's a part of the organization, and we're planning on him coming into spring training and competing for a job."
