Carlos Beltran is keeping an open mind -- about pretty much everything work-related, it seems. The outfielder, who is still recovering from knee surgery, told reporters on a conference call Thursday that he would at least listen if the Mets wanted to move him to right field -- or ask him to waive his no-trade clause. Of course, he would prefer neither of those conversations came to pass.
"I want to finish my career with the Mets," Beltran said, after promising to hear out new general manager Sandy Alderson if the Mets decided to try and move him.
Along the same lines, Beltran said he still sees himself as a center fielder, "But if the organization wants me to move, I have to do what's best for the team ... I'm open to listening."
