Nyjer MorganWashington Nationals center fielder Nyjer Morgan will serve an eight-game suspension for his role in a brawl between the Marlins and his team at the beginning of the month.

However, an earlier seven-game suspension he received for throwing a ball into the stands in Philadelphia that struck a fan in the face has been thrown out after an appeal hearing with Major League Baseball on both incidents.

Morgan was also fined $15,000 for the incident, according to the Washington Post.

All in all, he sounded relieved by the final discipline when reached on the phone by the Post.
