Melky Cabrera Signs With Royals

Free-agent outfielder Melky Cabrera agreed to a one-year deal with the Kansas City Royals, pending a physical, the club announced on Friday.

Cabrera's deal is worth $1.25 million plus $250,000 in incentives, according to ESPN.com.

The switch-hitting 26-year-old was let go by the Braves this offseason after hitting .255 with just four home runs and 52 RBI in 147 games this season. He has played all three outfield positions during the course of his career.
