Utilityman Willie Bloomquist reportedly has agreed to terms with the Diamondbacks on a one-year deal.Bloomquist will make $1.05 million this year, reports SI.com, and the contract includes a mutual option for 2012.
The versatile 33-year-old saw limited action for the Reds and Royals last season, hitting .267 and posting a .679 OPS in 199 plate appearances. He has played every position but pitcher and catcher in a nine-year career spent mostly in his hometown of Seattle.
He should feel at home with the Diamondbacks, though, as he played college ball at Arizona State. Bloomquist should join another versatile signee, Geoff Blum, on manager Kirk Gibson's bench in 2011.
