The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to trade outfielder Juan Rivera, one of the two players they got from the Angels in return for Vernon Wells last month, according to a report by FOXSports.com.The Blue Jays already traded the other half of their haul for Wells, dealing catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli to the Texas Rangers.
Rivera, 32, is due $5.25 million this season and can become a free agent in November. With Rajai Davis, Travis Snider, Adam Lind and Jose Bautista all capable of playing in the outfield, it's certainly easy to understand why Toronto would view Rivera as surplus to its needs, particularly at that salary.
